A naturally semi-sweet red wine made from the Saperavi grape variety harvested in the Akhasheni region. This wine is produced from sun-dried grapes, which enhances the sugar concentration and aromatics. It is soft and fruity, with a natural sweetness and vibrant color. Aurumela is Barbale's attempt to create a modern interpretation of Akhasheni without the heavy "candy" quality. Notes of cherry jam, blackcurrant, pomegranate and light spices. The velvety texture, soft tannins, and sweetness are balanced by the acidity of Saperavi. This is not a "compote" semi-sweet wine, but a rather gastronomic, structured wine with a long, warming finish.
